AI Building Communities
At Humanly, we're building AI systems to speed up how we find and develop land for master-planned communities. There are over 40 million American households that make too much for subsidized housing but can't afford market rate. These are people who push the country forward and have to choose between school supplies for their kids and making rent. We're building for them.
My job is the technical side. We use AI to analyze land parcels, score them against dozens of criteria, and flag the best ones. Work that takes a person 35 to 45 minutes per parcel takes our system about 2 minutes.
The bigger picture: traditional affordable housing can take 3 to 10 years just to get through zoning reform. We're trying to compress that. Using AI to pick land and manufactured housing to build on it can cut construction time in half. If the system works the way we think it will, it's replicable. One community becomes a template for hundreds.
